2. Awakening and Transformation of Consciousness

Western example

Eckhart Tolle is a well known Western enlightened teacher. Being in the NOW is the core of Tolle’s teaching (similar to “constant remembrance“ in Sahaj Marg). He defines a “pain-body”, which is not really us (being spiritual beings), but which can take us over very easily. The pain-body has been created by emotions of pain, greed, jealousy, anger, fear. We have come here to remove these impressions, he says, and develop a higher consciousness on the planet, and thus become co-creators.  Many other spiritual systems have other words for describing this process.

Quote
“All things are vibrating energy fields in ceaseless motion. Matter is an illusion. Our senses perceive vibrations as solid and motionless. We are made up of molecules, atoms, electrons and subatomic particles, which are vibrating together, creating what we perceive as solid. Your body is inseparable from universal intelligence as one of its countless manifestations. We do not run our bodies. We are not in charge. The divine, God or the universal intelligence does it. It is the same intelligence manifesting as Gaia, the complex living being that is planet Earth. This is true for any life form. It is the same intelligence creating all circulatory systems both in our bodies and in nature.” - Eckhart Tolle
