Tamera

Tamera is located in the Alentejo region of Portugal on 331 acres. They are part of an initiative started in 1978 with the founding of ZEGG in Germany.  The founders —Dieter Duhm and Sabine Lichtenfelds— left ZEGG to found Tamera. They are known for their bold initiatives and experimentation and are committed to “the great search for truth and faithfulness for new possibilities in love and in community”. The idea of global healing has become their foremost quest. One project is Monte Cerro, a visionary model settlement to promote a global violence-free future. The project includes a “solar village”—consisting of a novel solar technology designed by Jurgen Kleinwachter, as well as permaculture design and water retention lakes.
