Relocalization

Along with the strategy of decentralisation, there is re-localisation.  Local links are created and strengthened.  A good example is an emphasis on locally produced food as compared to globally sourced supermarket food.  Local farmers supply, saving transportation costs and supporting the local economy.  Community supported agriculture (CSA) and local currencies are further levels of reinforcing the internal links within a bioregion.

The next section of this module cover the combined impact of climate change and peak oil on our design processes.  We will then explore specific technologies used in designing ecovillage built environments.
